Last week was a fantastic reading week. I'd recommend all three of these books.
All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy
It's Only Death by Lee Thompson
The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
Astrotwins -- Project Blastoff by Mark Kelly, Martha Freeman
I have no idea what I'm going to read next. I'm still reeling from The Girl with All the Gifts. I'm definitely going to be in a nothing-sounds-good book funk.
What about you? What are you reading this week? Be sure to let me know in the comments or leave me a link!
This post is being shared as part of Book Journey's It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Looks like quite a variety you are reading! It's always hard to move on and choose your next book after a stunning read, isn't it?

Thanks for the read, Jen! I'm glad you liked ALL THE PRETTY HORSES! I just finished the second in the Border Trilogy but I didn't like it quite as much. I have the 3rd book here I'll read next week. Books I have lined up next to my chair here: Cities of the Plain by McCarthy, The Hook by Donald Westlake, In the Moon of the Red Ponies by James Lee Burke, and Until I Find You by John Irving. Currently reading Joyce Carol Oates's Mudwoman. I'm looking forward to The Girl with All the Gifts, too!
ReplyDeleteSpring is definitely here and it's making me just want to sit outside and read our maybe di some yard work. Alas, stupid life and responsibilities get in the way. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteThe Girl With All the Gifts has been on my tbr list since it came out, but somehow I haven't gotten to it yet. Hopefully I can pick it up in the next few weeks. I'm glad to hear it was such a powerful read!
ReplyDeleteI like not knowing what I'm going to read next. I'm a big fan of free range reading! I hope that whatever it is, it's awesome. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy spring to you too, Jennifer. :) Your books sound really good! I just looked up Girl With All the Gifts and quite a few of my friends have read it too. Hope you find a good book to chase after your no-good-book funk. ;)
