Recent Updates and Currently Reading | October 30

I feel like I'm back, friends. I've read all weekend. I've been writing reviews lately. I have a bunch of posts scheduled... I hope it lasts.

Here's the latest on my puzzle. I will be so glad when I finish this challenge.

Posted Last Week

Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune

Book Review | Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
⭐⭐⭐⭐★ - Recommended for fans of Becky Chambers and Travis Baldree. Go read my review to find out why.

Finished Reading

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes by Eric LaRocca The Clackity by Lora Senf

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes by Eric LaRocca ⭐⭐★★★ - My full review will be posted tomorrow, but I have a hard time with horror when there's no character development.

The Clackity by Lora Senf ⭐⭐⭐★★ - This was creepy and imaginative, and I recommend for fans of Coraline. I'll post my full review next week.

Currently Reading

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen Fairy Tale by Stephen King

The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen - I started this last night, and I'm hooked. I will probably spend a lot of time with this one today.

Fairy Tale by Stephen King - I've been listening to this one on audio, and I finally got to pick up a print copy from my library. Even when I'm listening to a book, I still need to go back and forth to print. That's just how it is for me.

Added to the TBR

Sign Here by Claudia Lux

Sign Here by Claudia Lux - This was my Book of the Month pick. It's a horror comedy, and I can't wait to read it! I have high expectations for this one.

Currently Watching

Anyone watching the World Series? The Phillies stole game one from the Astros. Hopefully we can steal one back this week!

This post is being shared as part of The Sunday Salon at Readerbuzz, Book Date It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Caffeinated Book Reviewer's The Sunday Post.

  1. I work in south Jersey (really close to Philly) everyone at work is going nuts about the series.

  2. Wow cool puzzle. There's something about underwater imagery. I haven't seen a baseball game in ages but I'd love to watch some of the World series.

  4. I just borrowed a copy of Fairy Tale from a friend and am looking forward to it. Also I quite enjoyed Whispering Door, but not as much as Cerulean Sea. Hope you have a terrific week and find time to read a good book.

  5. I'm so glad you feel like your back. I hope your momentum lasts too! It's always hard when that mojo leaves unexpectedly.

I love how the puzzle is looking. I can imagine wanting to be done with it, though.

Good luck with NaNo! :D Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  10. I really want to read Fairy Tale, but I'm not sure if I want it in print or audio. Who is the narrator? - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

  11. Neat looking puzzle! I too am watching the World Series and pulling for the Phillies since I'm a National League fan. I often follow along in the print version when I listen to an audiobook. That way of reading works well for me. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. That is a challenging puzzle for sure with all the similar colours. And I have found the round ones more difficult.

  15. Woo hoo! I'm glad you are feeling like you are back. I hate it when I am not reading.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Under the Whispering Door. I have been curious about that one.

  16. What an interesting puzzle! I love jigsaw puzzles. Those round ones (or ones with any kind of distinct edge other than rectangle) can be so challenging! Good look finishing yours. You're getting close.

I totally get that need to go back and forth between an audio book and the print book. I do that all the time too. I'm currently reading/listening to "Necessary Lies" with both versions.

Good luck with the World Series tonight (I'm sensing you are a Houston fan?). I don't really care this year; I am an Atlanta Braves fan. :)
