Recent Updates and Currently Reading | September 24

Oooh, nooooo. I'm in a reading slump. I'm flat not in the mood to read anything. I just want to do crafts and watch TV. Times like these make me feel like I have no business accepting review copies. Reading them right now would feel like a j-o-b and that's not fair to anyone.

So what am I watching? I'm watching a lot of YouTube as always. I'm also watching Ted Lasso, Ahsoka, and Only Murders in the Building. I finished the live action One Piece! I highly, highly recommend reading the manga before watching One Piece, but I'm so satisfied. They had to rush through a lot because it was 11 volumes of manga into only 8 episodes, but the major points were there and the most important scenes were there and my favorite line was there. I cried several times. There's a lot of manga action going on but it's also very heartwarming and I love it.

Currently Reading

Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon

Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison - I started reading this and not much is happening yet 60+ pages in which did not help the slump. I don't want to put it down (it was my most anticipated book of the year) but I'm also not inspired to pick it back up 😭 I hope it's just me right now.

Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon - This is a reread, and I'll probably read on this some more today.

That's it for me today! I didn't finish reading anything, and I didn't get anything new, but I'm hoping to get inspired by you all today!

This post is being shared as part of The Sunday Salon at Readerbuzz, Book Date’s It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Caffeinated Book Reviewer's The Sunday Post.

  1. The only reading I did in the last three weeks was on the long plane rides to and from Europe. I do hope I can settle in to Tom Lake today. I hate slumping.

Of course I didn't watch anything or blog either. I am eager to get back into my regular routine.

  2. Reading slumps are never fun. They usually happen to me when I'm running tired or stressed. At least you have fun shows to watch. And crafts! What are you crafting?

  3. The good thing is that you are still finding enjoyment in other things. At least you are not slumping in every area of your life. Don't worry about the review books. I am sure you will get them read at some point

  4. Sometimes you just gotta go with the slump and do what is making you happy. I have found lately that when I am in a slump and don't feel like reading, I can still listen to an audiobook. Crafts and tv sounds fun!

  5. Oh I hate slumps. I've been in one off and on all summer lol. I hope Black Sheep picks up. I'm kinda looking forward to that one...

  6. I've gone through a few reading slumps. I blog ahead now so there's always about 20 reviews ready to post. Then I don't feel rushed at all to read the next book.

  7. I hope you get out of the slump. For me a different genre, or favorite genre helps but you're already reading your most anticipated book. Crafting is good though.

Anne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

  8. Reading slumps are the worst! Hopefully it only lasts for a bit. When I get into a slump usually just trying a different genre will help. Wishing you a great week!

  9. Hope the slump passes. I read and reviewed September House and I highly recommend it. It was so much fun!

  10. Ugh, I hope the reading slump passes quickly. I hate when I want to read, but know that it's pointless to try.

  11. Keep reading Black Sheep - I don't know if you've hit the big twist yet, but if you haven't, you must be close!

  12. Reading slumps are the worst. I've been reading super slowly for a while now, so that feels like a slump too.
I've started watching Only Murders in the Building as well and loving it so far.

  13. We are in a slumpy slump and I HATE that for us. Thankfully audio's, knitting and movies are saving my sanity.

  14. Slumps are hard, and I'm struggling myself. We're caught up with Only Murders in the Building, and I'm ready for more! Such a charming show, and great cast.
