All About Me and The Books I Want

Today's Follow Friday question over at Parajunkee's View is:

Who are You the Boy/Girl, instead of You the Blogger?

Stolen from my "About Me" page: I'm a mom, a wife, a web developer, a pet owner, a long distance runner, a frugalist, a home cook, a crocheter/knitter, a tennis fan, and a TV junkie.

I have awesome kids.  A preschooler and a toddler.  My husband is my best friend.  We have 7 cats and 2 dogs.  We like animals.  A lot.

Since I work full time outside of the home, I choose not to spend much of my non-working time away from my family.  My only getaway is the time I spend running (and reading!).  I have my first half marathon tomorrow morning.  Excited!!

I'm a TV junkie, but with little kids... I don't have much of an opportunity to fill that addiction.

And that's pretty much me in a nutshell!

Book Blogger HopJennifer over at Crazy For Books asks:

If I gave you £50 (or $80) and sent you into a bookshop right now, what would be in your basket when you finally staggered to the till?"

The Informationist: A ThrillerThe Informationist was just released. I'm dying to read it, and I'm definitely not first on my library's hold list. I would scoop it up!

I Am Number Four Movie Tie-in Edition (Lorien Legacies)I would buy my grandmother a copy of I Am Number Four. I pass my good books to her, and this ereader life is making it harder these days.

Aftertime (Luna Books)I would buy my mom a copy of Aftertime by Sophie Littlefield since I just got her hooked on zombies with Brian Keene's The Rising.

Swamplandia!I would buy myself Swamplandia! since I'm still dying to read it.

I would buy my 4 year old some primer books since he is now stepping into the world of being able to read himself. That is so exciting! I keep thinking of all the books I want to share with him!! I love it.

Ellie who blogs at Musings of a Bookshop Girl: Thanks for the $80! :)

Hoppers: Have an excellent, beautiful weekend!

  2. Thanks!!

Lab mixes truly are the best dogs. My Maci is a lab-border collie mix. I love that girl.

  5. I'm a TV junkie too, from anything to do with police procedure (Law & Order, NCIS, Bones, etc.) to comedy (Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, etc. ).

    Happy reading!

  6. Greetings from OZ. I am your latest follower and delighted to connect with such a stylish and professional looking blog. I found you on the Book Blogger Hop.

Your list of books are also a few I wish I had added to mine.

However I decided to go with all new authors this time.

  7. Good luck on your half marathon tomorrow! I've always wanted to run a marathon, except that I hate running. That kind of puts a damper on things, lol.

I love that you have 7 cats! I would have 7 cats too if my husband wanted more than our current 3. We did have 4, but she didn't get along well with the others so she lives with my parents now.

  9. Wow! What a great question this week. I always peek at other people's book piles at the checkout link at B&N. That doesn't make me a voyeur, does it?

The exhibitionist in me has posted my own bookstore shopping list -- and it's not as predictable as you may think!

Hop on over to my blog for all the suspense and chills of my TBR list - http://www.howardsherman.net

    Happy Hop Friday!

  10. Thanks for stopping by my blog! And I thought I was the only one crazy enough to have this many pets! I just can’t help myself. All of mine were either abused, neglected, or rescued. My little black cat, Aro, was trapped under a truck and dragged by his neck for 10 miles. He was burned very badly, and at one point, the side of his face fell off! I know, pretty gross. I almost brought him to the shelter to have them put him to sleep, but I figured I’d try one more thing and used some antibiotic spray the vet gave me, and in a few days he was on his way back to recovering. His head is misshapen and he only has half an ear, but I love him anyway.

Maybe we should start a doggie day care together, lol. Your kids can help us on the weekends, haha.

    Have a great weekend!
