My Favorite Reads of 2016

I've been on the fence about whether I was going to post a list this year, but my last two reads of the year were really worthy of being on this list so it made the decision for me. In the order I read them in 2016, here are my favorite reads of the year:

Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace

Savage Season (Hap and Leonard #1) by Joe R. Lansdale

Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace

The Last One by Alexandra Oliva

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

The Fireman by Joe Hill

The Secret Life of Souls by Jack Ketchum, Lucky McKee

The Long Walk by by Richard Bachman (Pseudonym), Stephen King

The Thief of Always by Clive Barker

  1. Great list! I read The Last One this year, too, and quite liked it. And I can't wait to give Shallow Graves a try. :)

  3. I have Shallow Graves, The Fireman and the Hap and Leonard books to read - hopefully in 2017. The Secret Life of Souls made my list too - such a good book, more people should read it!

    1. I hope you get a chance to read them. I would love to see more people read Secret Life of Souls, too. I haven't managed to do a review for it yet. I'm hoping to do some catch up on that next year.

  4. I've had my eye on Shallow Graves for quite some time but wasn't sure. And Lansdale. I gotta read some Lansdale in 2017.

  7. Oo these look good!! I have only read The Long Walk before, and have a added a few of these to my TBR! The Fireman for sure; I have loved all of Joe Hill's other work, he is as talented as you would expect him to be, in my opinion. I don't think I can do The Secret Life of Souls! I am so sensitive to dogs and cats in books - I just sobbed at a cartoon the other day when a dog died, setting off a chain reaction of crying in my house. Lol. Have a great New Years!

    1. I can't get over how talented Joe Hill is. I mean... I guess he has the genes and all, but wow! You know, if The Secret Life of Souls hadn't been a Ketchum book, I probably would NOT have read it! I completely understand what you are saying. (I'm the same way.) I won't lie, it's a gut wrenching book, but the dog isn't the reason not to read it... the dog is the reason that you should! But yeah... dog book. LOL.

  8. Several of these books are on my TBR list. I just bought The Last One on sale this week and I have a review copy of The Fireman that I still need to get to. Great list!

  9. How did I miss your list? :-) Fireman has made quite a lot of list, I may have to read it, I have enjoyed some of his books. YellowPaper made my list a few years ago.
