Recent Updates and Currently Reading | July 31

Have you seen Everything Everywhere All at Once yet? We saw it last night, and I'm obsessed. I think it may be one of my favorite movies of all time. Fair warning - it's an A24 movie so it's weird, but it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

I have a serious movie hangover so please tell me something you've enjoyed watching lately - movie, series, sports, youtube...

  1. I need to try that movie! I also should probably try the Blake Crouch book as I read one of his before. Hope you have a good week!

  4. Okay I have NOT seen that movie but I just watched the trailer and yeah... looks good! Plus that one dude from Big Trouble in Little china is in it (if that's him) and right there I was like- sold. Ha.

Upgrade I'm not sure about- I LOVED Dark Matter but Recursion a little less, so...

I agree about Chambers. Have you read the space nuns novellas Sisters of the Vast Black and Sisters of Forsaken Stars? Very similar vibe to me- not quite as sunny but still very much the same kind of SF, I think...

  6. So, you're going to laugh or roll your eyes, lol. My husband has neurological issues with his eyes. He does need glasses, but it's very difficult to get the right prescription for him because of the neurological issues. Anyway, whenever we watch movies with subtitles, I have to read them out loud for him. We tried watching Everything Everywhere All at Once, but there were too many subtitles. :( He's been wanting a new tv, so I convinced him to get the 85" so that the subtitles are large enough for him to read on his own. It'll be here on the 18th. The first movie we're going to watch is Everything Everywhere All at Once. LOL.

    1. No eye rolling from me. I have to read subtitles for one of my kids with visual impairment. I'm pretty sure most of the Everything Everywhere All At Once subtitles were at the beginning. I remember wondering if we'd be able to watch since my cat is obsessed with TV and blocks the subtitles. lol I hope you love it! It's WEIRD but so good.
