Currently Reading | The Death of Bees

It has been hard to blog with a newborn in the house! Thankfully, I've been able to read OK (on the Kindle), but writing or typing has not been happening. I did finish writing a grocery list yesterday, but I never actually made it to the store...

I'm currently reading The Death of Bees by Lisa O'Donnell.
Today is Christmas Eve. Today is my birthday. Today I am fifteen. Today I buried my parents in the backyard. Neither of them were beloved.
I like The Death of Bees so far. The writing style is pretty different, so I'm enjoying the change of pace.

I'm going to catch up on some reviews this week. I read some more Jack Reacher and some cute middle grade reads. I also read a Nelson Demille story that I hated called Rendezvous. I may or may not review that one.

I hope everyone has a fantastic reading week. Be sure to let me know what you are reading this week (or leave me a link so I can visit!).

  1. I completely forgot about this book. Thanks for putting it back on my radar.

Even though its been many years I remember how hard it was trying to read with a newborn in the house. It became much easier once they were on a sleep schedule until then I'd read whenever I could which usually meant while cooking, bathroom breaks, or before bed.

  5. Congratulations on the baby! I with I had a Kindle when I had my first child, as that was the only way I was able to get any reading done with my second.

    1. Thanks, Kacy! Exactly. I wouldn't be reading much at all if it weren't for the Kindle. I think I may start listening to a bit more audio right now, too.

  10. 'The Death of Bees' is gloomy, somber, and brutally realistic but darkly comedic as well. Enthralling and thought-provoking, you'll find yourselves racing to finish to find out these unforgettable girls' fate.
